| | Investment Philosophy Schwaben’s investment philosophy is value based. It seeks long-term shareholder value in the companies it invests in. Schwaben seeks to invest in successful businesses rather than just “stocks and bonds”. The Schwaben’s investment philosophy seeks to find businesses that have a long-term sustainable business model with low cyclicality, relatively stable profit margins and proven management. Hence most of the investments that Schwaben seeks have limited exposure to commodity prices and raw materials. Schwaben seeks to use a process of elimination in its investment approach rather than seek investments that promise high returns through the latest stories. We initially use quantitative and qualitative methods to eliminate a large number of equities, or as we would like to refer to it “publically traded business”, that do not meet our basic fundamental criteria for investing. Once we have reached a more condensed group of companies that, according to our criteria, are investable based on fundamental and valuation parameters, we conduct closer research and seek out the best companies that are diversified over a broad spectrum of industries. | | |
